Helen from Cheeky Wipes reviews Babasac...

Here is Helen and Aerin's review

May 9th, 2012

How time flies… Believe it or not, my little Aerin is now a whole year old –where did that time go to?

Obviously being the youngest of 4 children there isn’t a lot she needs in the way of toys for her birthday but I decided to treat her to a new sleeping bag as she’s almost grown out of her 6 – 18 month one.

I took a look around at the Baby Show and came across this lovely sleeping bag from the lovely Keira at Mamascarf. The BRILLIANT and unique thing about the Babasac is that it is dual season (like the dual season duvets that you can buy), starting at 2.5 tog but with an inner area which zips out to make it into a summer sleeping bag, with a 1.0 tog rating.

Prior to this I thought that all sleeping bags were pretty much of a muchness but a lot of care has gone into the design of this one. For example, the zip starts at the bottom of the sleeping bag, so if you have to do an overnight nappy change for any reason, you don’t have to completely take them out of their sleeping bag.

There are also additional internal poppers on the inside which you can use to make the sleeping bag tighter around the arms. This was perfect for me because Aerin is on the 75th centile for height and weight, so I had gone for the 18-36 month one. Using the extra poppers means that it’s still a nice snug fit.

Lastly, the Babasac comes in a choice of two different fabrics. I went for the pink hearts one as it fits in with the style of her room, but was seriously tempted by the navy stars….

What people are saying about Babasac...

We are having our website redesigned, which I am very excited about. In the meantime I thought I would share with you what people are saying about Babasac. Denise Van Outen listed it in her "Things I am loving" column in Prima Baby magazine and Jo Tantum, Baby Sleep Expert said "I love the design of the Babasac . As it's two different togs in one, it's great all year round. I will be recommending it to all my clients." I have also had emails from two mums, one thanking me for her first full nights sleep and the other for a lie in. Result!! Although I am not 100% sure it is not just a happy coincidence! We will be posting lots of your sleep tips and stories on the new site, as well as blog posts from those in the know. If there are any specific topics you would like covered just let us know and we will do our best to grant your wish. You can email me at info@mamascarf.co.uk or some and see us at the Baby Show (stand K30) opposite M&S and see the Babasac for yourself. Keira x

SLEEP! Please send us your stories, tips and advice.

This is my gorgeous baby boy Sam, not so little now! I used to pray for him to sleep. I would wake in the night, willing him not to. For the first few nights of his life, we would literally take turns to hold him through the night. The second he went into the moses basket he would scream. We tried everything, warming it, packing him in with rolled towels, womb sounds, swaddling. We got there eventually. He first slept through at about 6 months. How we celebrated. It didn't always last.

To celebrate the arrival of Babasac and our new website, which will be going live next month, we are going to be talking about sleep. We would love you to share any sleep related stories (funny, informative, happy, sad), advice or tips that might be of interest to other sleep deprived parents. The amount of sleep you and your baby has had the night before can make or break the day. We would love to hear your pearls of wisdom, whether it is on nap times, bed time routine, toddler sleep, feeding to sleep, controlled crying . We will also have guest posts from some leading sleep experts, giveaways and lots of other interesting stuff.

Please send them in to me Keira info@mamascarf.co.uk
Thanks! x

COMING VERY SOON! Babasac, 2-in-1 multi tog baby sleeping bag

I am delighted that after months of hard work, Babasac has passed all of its extremely rigorous safety tests (BS8510 2009)! For those of you who don't know, Babasac is a 2-in-1 multi tog baby sleeping bag. It has removable inner panels that easily zip out, meaning that it can be used all year round and on holiday. With the panels in, it is 2.5 tog and without 1.0 tog. It is 100% cotton and comes in two designs, hearts and stars.

I came up with the idea for Babasac when I realised that I was going to have to buy Lily yet another baby sleeping bag to take on holiday as her normal one was too high a tog. Feedback from parents so far has been fantastic and we can't wait to launch at the Excel Baby Show next month (stand C32).

We will have a very special launch price at the show. We hope to see you there! We'd love to hear what you think?
